No More Pilgrim Adams Family Outfits

It was Kris Jenner herself who shared with everyone daughter Kim Kardashian's "delightful email" telling her: "I love you mom but no more pilgrim adams family outfits. You have exhausted this look done. Move on. We need chic, tights dresses. Not this Omish sh--t anymore."

The proud mother captioned her snap shot of Kim's email thus: "After spending an amazing morning at The Hollywood Reporter Women in Entertainment breakfast, and while I was in my car and hadn't even gotten home yet, my LOVELY daughter @kimkardashian sent me this delightful email after she apparently saw my picture online. So I wanted to share with you her special holiday cheer. #ithoughtilookedfab #cantdoanythingrightlol."

Despite what her daughter tells her, many still agrees with the 59-year-old very youthful-looking matriarch of the Kardashians and the Jenners that she did "looked fab" in the outfit she wore for The Hollywood Reporter event. Daily Mail's Femail Fashion Finder says: "Out of all the chic looks we've seen, nothing is quite so effective as monochrome. There's something about the pared down simplicity that makes it so chic, which might explain why Kris Jenner chose this Alexander McQueen dress for a recent TV appearance."

Retailing for £1,355 ($2,117), the original dark monochrome Alexander McQueen dress with the faux Peter-Pan-style shirt collar and silky bow ribbons at the wrists is now sold out at Net-A-Porter. However, Daily Mail says those who want can find cheaper alternatives that are still available at New Look, Daisy Street, and Ted Baker

Meanwhile, Kris 23-year-old marriage to Bruce Jenner, 65, is now officially over, says TMZ. According to the celebrity news and gossip site, the couple agreed to divide up their bank accounts and other assets, with Kris getting the family home. Neither will also be getting spousal support from the other. The two will share custody of 17-year-old daughter Kylie.

Rihanna talks Puma plans

Rihanna is going to "attack Puma" in her new role as women's creative director of the brand.

Rihanna feels like she's having a baby with Puma.

The 26-year-old singer was announced as the brand's women's creative director yesterday, helming its fitness and training line. She begins her new role in January and can't wait to add another fashion venture to her name having created her own pieces in the past.

"I love designing. I've always enjoyed it. The thing I love most is the unexpected result between my brand and theirs, the combination, the marriage - it's like having a baby, you put two things together and all of the sudden it bursts into a new thing. It's life," she explained to WWD.

"At River Island I was able to see stuff come to life, draw up an idea from scratch, and that made me want to take on a bigger challenge. And MAC was an amazing experience - from creating packaging to going through textures. I would love to do cosmetics, because I love beauty: choosing colours, creating shapes. It's like painting, you just get to play. The same way I treated MAC, I will attack Puma."

And the label holds a special place in Rihanna's heart as she grew up with Puma sneakers which she "wore to death".

She still has a keen interest in the footwear and keeps all her shoes in a 4,000 square-foot storage unit along with many of her performance costumes.

"I have too many if that's even possible; they are mostly in storage now," she explained. "They are probably on par with my stilettos. I love a heel but recently I'm tending more to sneakers. Being in the studio, travelling, touring - you cannot do that in heels, unless you are Posh Spice [Victoria Beckham]. She is in the airport with four kids and she gets it done. She is so legit."

Rihanna will also be the company's global ambassador and help "design and customise classic Puma styles and create new styles to add to the Puma product portfolio," the company explained in a statement.

Bjørn Gulden, Puma's top executive, is excited about the star jumping on board and looks forward to her introducing the label a new target audience.

"She speaks the language of design and creativity, and that's fun to see. I can already tell, she brings a lot of energy to the table," he said.

Wedding ensemble goes bold and glam

With wedding season already seeping in, city's fashionistas are leaving no stone unturned to look their best and take the latest fashion trends a notch up.

And when we talk about wedding fashion and experiments how can we leave behind the beautiful brides of Gujarat who aren't shying away from exploring various bridal trends which are undergoing vast changes. "One of the major reasons why the bridal outfit is going vast changes is because firstly the brides are well read and know what they want, and secondly their in-laws also want them to experiment with the fashion trends that are in vogue," says fashion designer Bhumika Shodhan.

Changing trends Be it the beautiful panetars or the gharcholu, Gujarati brides are all game when it comes to experimenting with their wedding ensemble, "The original panetar has taken a modern twist as the bride these days opts for lehengas or the shararas —hugely influenced by the style, patterns and colours that rule the panetars," says fashion designer Purvi Doshi.

While there are many who prefer nuances of panetar in their wedding ensemble, there are others who are adapting a more modern twist, "Bridal fashion is seeing a lot of fusion, this wedding season. Sarees or lehengas are teamed with jacket blouses or peplum tail blouse which are embellished with either zardosi or gota work which can be worn with a flared or layered chaniya," says fashion designer Archana Makwana

This wedding season is all about fusion wear but with minimalist approach. Lehengas with lesser embroideries are preferred. Also hand loom fabrics are more used than the crepes and chiffons. The colours, cuts, design, style and accessories have also evolved. Adding more modern cuts whilst avoiding heavy embroidery is in. Skirt-style lehengas is also catching up among brides. Gota work, zardosi, jadtar, kundan work, are also fused with modern day bridal wear. Also prints, motifs and varied embroideries are getting a quirky touch. Though brides are opting for the traditional reds, greens and off-white colour, they are also open to add in more pastel shades; shades of wine, royal blue, champagne, beige and orange.

Accentuate it right Apart from comfort, brides definitely want to steal the show and that can happen, when their wedding ensemble compliment and accentuate their frame. "Crop-top and corset style blouses are trendy and definitely helps to accentuate one's curve. Adding a jewelled waist belt over the dupatta is also in vogue. Accentuating also largely depends on the cut," says fashion designer Anoli Shah.

"One can accentuate it elegantly by opting for blouses with high neckline or the boat neck one which is high on embroidery by keeping the dupatta and the chaniya simple n with work on the border. Varied styles of draping dupatta also works wonders," adds Archana.

Budget ensemble Yes, weddings are the season to flaunt your best, but there are many brides who prefer their D-day ensemble to be budget friendly too. "Restore your mom's or grandmom's vintage saree and drape it differently. Team it with high neck edgy blouse and statement jewellery," adds Anoli Shah.

Purvi suggests, that a simple chaniya with broad gold border can be teamed with a choli that has some embroidery on it and add a plain dupatta again that has some embroidery on the border. This is budget-friendly and at the same time gives an elegant and a regal look.

The ever-changing bauble With so much change seen in the wedding couture, the wedding jewellery too is undergoing a lot of changes. Instead of the usual designs, brides love to flaunt, statement neck pieces, cuffs, chokers, earrings, kamarbandh, nathni, especially the effervescent maang-tikka or haath-phool which are getting a quirkier twist. When it comes to wedding jewellery, going minimal is the mantra.

Men and trends And with the wedding season in full swing, city's men are also leaving no stone unturned to look their best. "Be it experimenting by adding more embellishments on their ensemble or playing a little with bright colours or opting for layering, the grooms are also open to experiment. From pairing their bandhgalas with Jodhpuri pants, or adding a Nehru jacket to the usual kurta -pajama, or even layering the dhoti pants with their sherwani, men are now open to experimentation," says Bhumika Shodhan.

“I have always loved accessories, they can dress up or dress down an outfit,” Sana Hafeez tells The Express Tribune, “I became acquainted with Outhouse about a year ago when my husband came back from Delhi with a few pieces as a birthday present for me.”

Outhouse jewellery is the brain child of sisters Kaabia and Sasha Grewal which was established in October 2011 in India. Their design philosophy is edgy and eccentric with a modern twist to it that appeals to audiences everywhere. The brand boasts the loyalty of celebrities such as Priyanka Chopra, Sienna Miller and Sonam Kapoor to be avid fans of the brand.

“My association with the brand happened quite naturally,” says Hafeez. “And while we were in talks with Outhouse, closer to FPW I brought it up with Sana Safinaz and they liked the pieces and that’s when I decided to launch the brand with an exhibition in Karachi.”

From palm rings to body harnesses, the collection has something for everyone. “The pieces are beautifully crafted and different because the design house uses brass plating with 18k Rose Gold and then they also use a mix of semi-precious stones, crystals and stones from the quartz family. With a combination of funky claws and leaves, the collection made quite an impact on the ramp as well as at the exhibition.”

The collection is priced between Rs 9,000- 50,000. Sana Hafeez plans on bringing the collection to Lahore soon.

Keira glam in gold at Brit film awards

Keira Knightley and her husband James Righton were the best-dressed couple at the British Independent Film Awards in London yesterday.

Keira Knightly was gorgeous in gold and silver at the British Independent Film Awards in London last night.

The 29-year-old actress arrived at the prestigious event in a festive sleeveless, embroidered ivory dress, complete with a fur-lined skirt. It complemented her fair complexion, which was also highlighted by Keira showing off noticeably darker hair on the red carpet.

Continuing her subtle-yet-striking look, the star wore sparkling bow-shaped earrings and a statement ring on her left hand.

She was joined at the ceremony by her handsome husband, Klaxons musician James Righton. The couple looked smitten as they posed for the cameras.

Other British beauties at the bash last night included James McAvoy's glam wife Anne-Marie Duff. She opted for a chic strapless black gown, decorated with a large rose-gold and bronze flower print.

There was also acting royalty in the form of Dame Helen Mirren. As always, the 69-year-old star looked incredibly youthful in a black lacy number with an off-the-shoulder sleeve and sheer skirt.

She struck a pose with her hand on her hip on the red carpet, before showing off her fun side by having a giggle with Emma Thompson, who looked colourful in a cape-style silk dress. It featured a bold print on the front, with splashes of blue, green and black to reflect her edgy quiff hairstyle.

Olivia Colman went for a more classic outfit yesterday, in a black button-up dress with a large collar. Adding more of an elegant touch, the actress wore a classy 20s-style hairpiece featuring a large gold feather to match her metallic clutch bag, and slicked on a coat of bright red lipstick.

House of 365 Brings Designer Fashion

Wayzata, you’ve got some new neighbors. Diane von Furstenberg, Andrew Marc and couture lingerie designer Shell Belle have moved to town, and their address is 750 E. Lake St. A 4,000-square-foot boutique, House of 365 (“three-six-five”) opened in August, and the name of its game is fab fashion, glitzy glam and convenient couture.

Like a small department store, the boutique carries all-natural beauty products, shapewear and lingerie, professional wardrobe staples, high-fashion statement pieces and everything in between. There’s even a tailor available in-house. You can buy a complete designer outfit from the shoes to the earrings, get fitted and have it all delivered to your house when it’s done.

It’s the brainchild of Kathleen and Annalise Bryan, a mother-daughter duo who share an obsession with great fashion and a passion for helping women learn the art of pulling together realistic, beautiful wardrobes and rocking them for every occasion. “We want to make women look and feel beautiful 365 days a year,” says Annalise, co-owner and executive brand director. “We can dress you to go to the beach or a wedding.”

http://www.graziaprom.co.uk/cheap-prom-dresses

Kathleen, who owns the shop, developed a taste for sophisticated, high-end pieces as a socialite growing up in London. For her, creating a style is as much about a fashionable, polished mindset and the ease of combining trends with classic looks as it is about mining for stand-alone pieces. “We want to teach women how to pull clothes together and feel special and proud,” she says.

Kathleen recalls staying at the Ritz Carlton as a young single mom. It’s an experience that has shaped her vision for the new shop. “There was an amazing elegance there that I’m trying to re-create and build into my staff,” she says. “People knew your name, and there was amazing service, an attitude of ‘whatever you like, we will get.’ ”

Annalise learned impeccable fashion from her mom as a young girl, but formally began her career in fashion while she was in college in Los Angeles, modeling and working as a set designer and stylist. “I really got into buying, and learned how to go in and pick out a look for an ad or a movie,” she says. “I love to style people out.”

Now she calls New York home and makes the rounds to international fashion shows, buying a few seasons in advance and keeping an ear to the runway for upcoming trends. When she’s not traveling, Annalise will lend her keen eye to clients at House of 365, offering one-on-one style consulting by appointment. She’s filled House 365 with pieces from major brands like Catherine Malandrino, J Brand and Liviana Conti.

The Wayzata boutique is a destination shop, where visitors have access to global brands. But at House of 365, it’s not just about big-name, international designers. The Bryans want a hometown angle too, like local jewelry artist Elena Ovss, of Sun and Moon Jewelry, who creates one-of-a-kind beaded necklaces. “It takes her about a month to make one necklace,” says Annalise. “I can’t wait to have a trunk show to show off her art!”

Kathleen hopes that eventually all three of her daughters will get involved in the start-up family business, and she hopes to develop the store into a national brand. But while her dreams are big, she wants to keep the essentials—service and elegance—at the forefront. “You walk in here, and you’re going to be wowed,” says Kathleen. “It’s going to be a royal experience. Everyone is welcome.”
